I have a secret. My greatest teachers have been women…

Don’t get me wrong, I’ve known and been inspired by brilliant men including my father and grandfather. These men continue to be very influential.

My lesson? Well, it began with my mother and three sisters which I wrote about in “When I think of Beauty, I think of a Woman.” The lessons continued as I grew.

When I was 19, I received a book from one of my teachers. She said “I admire you. I think you are a thoughtful young man. Here is this book. When the time is right, you will read…It will change your life as it did mine.” I read the book at 20 and that afternoon I experienced “A New Day.”

As I matured, I had passionate thought provoking conversations with beautiful women (spirits) twice my age. They were intrigued that we were having long talks on love and life. I was called an “old soul.” They expressed, I listened.

Women are the foundation of civilization and the inspiration for my life. I guess, many had a dream for the man they saw I could be. They taught me about love, life, sensuality, respect, the mind and the heart. I’m still learning. Applying the lessons.

I’m not there yet but each day I’m getting closer to what they saw in me. The women in my life? My healers, teachers, lovers, friends, family…Thank you.
