It’s not easy, but possible

Young brother and sister I come to you in love. Before you there are many challenges. Some challenges are based on the balance of life and others are obstacles put in place by racism.

Now, race is not real. We are all human beings but racism is very real. I suggest you read info on Critical Race Theory (CRT) for a greater understanding on how racism is ingrained in our society.

We have to rise above our challenges. We have to strive for success. We will see racial injustice and we must fight against it.

We cannot let stereotypes define us. We must be empowered and inspire others to do the same.

“Whiteness” was invented. Today, many people benefit from this invention. The greatest trick? Rich people dividing poor people. Poor people thinking their skin color is more important than their economic status.

Think about our purpose on this planet. Think about our community. Don’t get caught up into the “gotta get mine” mentality. When you learn, teach. We have the power to reach many with education.

We have to build on the legacy of our ancestors. Imagine how many people fought and died so you can live. What will future generations say about what is being done today?

We have to be visionaries. We have to create solutions that will ensure education is a right and not a privilege.

Why must we do all this? Today, nothing for us is easy. We have to make it easier for our sons and daughters…
