Let us find our commonality

We are not going to agree on everything. Let us find our commonality and create positive change in our community.

We can do more together. I would love to see Black Greek letter organizations and the Congressional Black Caucus work with Pan-Africanist and Black Nationalist. I would love to see black churches work with the Rastafarians, The Nation of Islam, the Akans, Hebrew Israelites, Vodun, Yoruba and other religious organizations. I would love to see leaders of African countries work with leaders of Caribbean countries for a better future. There are people working together but we need more…

Equality should be our goal but division is making the journey difficult. Being a part of different circles, I hear too many times what is wrong with another organization. Let us research the strengths of all fighting for social justice.

Too often when we don’t agree, we break off and form something new. Our global struggle affects us all. But our division based on ignorance or ideologies limits our reach in various communities.

Racism is a strong force. Our collective energy can remove the shackles of racism.  Our collective energy can heal our community. The state of Africa now, Caribbean now, African Americans now and the global perception of people of African heritage is not healthy.

We are not going to agree on everything. Let us find our commonality and create positive change in our community.
